Can the Hydrofoiler handle chop and swell?
You can ride on oceans, rivers and lakes, handling moderate chop and swell. The front tiller section of the Hydrofoiler self-levels and help to punch through chop and over swell as you ride. Check out this video showcasing the bike in choppy conditions.

Who can ride the bike?
Confident swimmers between 130lbs – 220lbs of any age (no license required). The Hydrofoiler is optimised for riders weighing between 155lbs-200lbs. To perform the submerged launch, riders do need to weigh below 220lbs in order to re-surface.
How fast does the Hydrofoiler go?
The bike boasts a top speed of 13mph and a cruising speed between 7 – 8mph.
How long does the battery last?
The battery offers up to 60 minutes of riding time on maximum assist*. Riding conditions, rider input and ability will affect ride time. Whilst riding, you can check the remaining battery life which is shown on the heads-up display (HUD) mounted on the Hydrofoiler handlebars. The 70 cell lithium-ion battery pack delivers 22Ah with each battery pack being easy to swap out using an Allen Key.
To recharge the battery, the battery plugs into any standard wall socket and takes 3 hours to charge back to full.

How do I transport the Hydrofoiler?
The Hydrofoiler™ XE-1 is the most mobile personal watercraft in the market today. Designed to be broken down into three parts; front foil, rear foil, and body. This allows for simple storage and transportation in-car or on roof racks. The Hydrofoiler can be assembled within 5 minutes and carried to the water by hand.

What riding gear would I need?
Manta5 strongly recommend that riders wear a PFD (personal flotation device)/life jacket and carry a communication device. The PFD will help the rider float in the water when they’re not riding. The communication device is to contact someone on shore in the case of an emergency.

Is the Hydrofoiler eco-friendly?
Our Hydrofoiler XE-1 is made with ‘clean-technology’ meaning that riders can explore all water areas, including protected lakes and rivers that petrol-powered watercraft are denied access to.
How does the Hydrofoiler™ get serviced?
All Hydrofoiler XE-1’s are serviced by Manta5 authorised service agents, customers will have access to the list of service agents in their area through the Manta5 Customer Portal (in construction). Most of the XE-1 componentry is constructed from standard bicycle parts. Repairs to the battery and motor, however, must be completed at the Manta5 HQ.
What is the minimum water depth required to foil and submerged launch the Hydrofoiler?
A minimum depth of 3ft to ride the bike in, is recommended. However, to perform the submerged launch to resurface this would require a minimum water depth of 7ft.
What happens when I stop pedalling?
The bike floats on its side when stationary. When you stop pedalling you will slowly sink down into the water, buoyancy prevents the bike from sinking when you stop pedalling. Master the remounting technique to perform a "submerged launch" to get foiling again from deep water.
Do you have distributors?
Manta5 only distribute direct to customer. All Hydrofoiler XE-1's should only ever be purchased through the manta5.com website. We will begin opening up distribution discussions in early 2020.
Where can I buy a Hydrofoiler XE-1 in my country?
Currently Manta5 only distribute direct to customer through our online e-commerce platform. All Hydrofoiler XE-1 should only ever be purchased through the manta5.com website. In-country distribution for the USA, UK and Europe will look to be set up from 2020 onward.
When will my Hydrofoiler be shipped to me?
Shipping is done on a first in, first served basis according to reservation number. Manta5 will begin overseas shipping Hydrofoilers reserved in the current presale from late 2019 onwards.
How will I know when my Hydrofoiler has been shipped?
All Hydrofoilers reserved during the current presale will be the first ever overseas delivery done by Manta5. As we progress through production and shipping the first few rounds of Hydrofoilers, more accurate timelines for manufacturing and delivery times will be formed. Customers are sent regular Production and Assembly updates to ensure that they are alongside us every step of the journey as we push to produce the world’s first hydrofoil e-Bike.
Why don’t you ship to my country?
Due to overwhelming demand, Manta5’s current presale is only open to the NZ, the UK, USA and Europe, however, we are working hard to expand and open to more countries. Updates about this are released through our new and updates monthly email.
How much does shipping and delivery cost?
For Manta5 Hydrofoiler™ XE-1 pre orders: Final shipping costs and associated tax/es will be quoted and billed at the time of final payment. Please find estimated shipping rates per Hydrofoiler™ ordered below:
United States: $250 - $400 USD dependent on final delivery address (excluding applicable state and local taxes)
United Kingdom: £200 - £250 GBP plus applicable country tax.
Europe: €200 - €300 EUR plus applicable country VAT.Taxes (incl. VAT) are not included in the shipping cost. Subject to state and local taxes. Customs and handling fees are included in the shipping price.

Where will my Hydrofoiler be delivered to?
All Hydrofoiler XE-1’s are shipped and delivered to your preferred shipping address. Manta5 staff will confirm your address one month out from Production Assembly. Orders are shipped in order of reservation number.
Does the Hydrofoiler come with a warranty?
